Game Design Final Evaluation
Hey Guy!Thursday the 4th of November
Game is complete (to the best of my ability) and handed in, into Think and Create and into Blackboard.
Here is the link to the game play to YouTube.

What I think:
For the ability I have, I'm happy with the outcome. I wished the threat of the monster, the sound trigger and collecting memories did work. But with the stress I have, in study and in personal life I don't think my tolerances couldn't handle it.
I'm happy that my animation act one and act three is added and I love how the flow is. The act one, then fades to the game, in the cut scene it shows the end goal the end of the hallway.
I'm happy how much I've learned during this process, but I didn't enjoy the fact that I do something then the code I did was some what incorrect. An example was when I made the pause screen worked then it didn't and I didn't do anything to the pause code, but to something else in the HUD.
I'm satisfied for the fact the menu to act one, to game play to act 3 then back to menu. I'm happy that work.
For next year, or next time I make a game, will have to focus my attention on the coding and the game play than all the extra information and story. As I do feel like the let down is that it doesn't have the threat in the game and the player information/clarity. Also to have all the assists done in the preproduction. Get the game running as soon as possible.
Will be doing some game coding and game slang during the holidays as most of the things Rachel said during classes I was super confused. Got frustrated even during that time as I wanted to understand but I feel like if I did ask her she got angry (I believe I have that feeling for the fact I feel stupid asking and also we are both busy people so I thought asking a stupid question would make more stress).
From the workshop, this morning, I learned that when comes to game design to make the game efficiently and as quickly as possible. Also as next year it'll be 3D game and animation, start making props rather than 3D your character (also use cubes to form things, rather than sphere).
Research that I'll be looking at over the holiday break:

Update, Friday the 5th of November:
I won for my Animation (which is the cut scenes in the game) but my game also assisted me win.
I apparently won the first place first year award, and to be honest I'm not happy with that. I know it sounds weird but I'm actually not as I believe others deserve it more. My animating was poor and the only thing that I believe was good was the story and environment design.
I do believe the other reason was, I asked the judge why he liked it and he said cause my concept and execution worked. There was a lot of metaphors in the story and design. Like yay, my concept work and everything but eh, I really didn't feel worthy, which makes me feel ungrateful. He also said the judges wasn't judging by the quality of the animation as we are beginning this journey and will learn more in animation later down the line.
He also liked the game, and can see where I got all the inspirations from.
I also did say what should I improve, he did say the principles of animation which I agree. It was quite rushed.
I don't know, I should be grateful, like I don't have to get a loan for next year, but eh.
