2D Animation Final Evaluation

 Hey Guys!
Wednesday the 3rd of November

Animation is complete and handed in, into Think and Create and into Blackboard. Also placed into the game for the begin and end.

Here is the link to the 2D Animation to YouTube.

What I think:

So I'm happy that is done, and some what happy with the execution. But, for next year, will make sure that all assets are completed in the pre-production and have time for only the animation as I believe I failed on the animation part of it.

Yes the design was quite detailed and a little complicated but it wasn't too complicated to do the animation. As last semester I did say that keep it simple (design and animation) and make sure I completed the tasks that needed to be completed as soon as possible. But I think I have more of an understanding to when I need to complete certain tasks.

I still like the design of the animation, very Tim Burton and I enjoyed using the nodes and Rigging. But, yeah I didn't really think much about the animation part of the animation. Which makes me sad, as I believe it was a let down.

Am think about next year project as it'll be 3D instead of 2D, but what I really have learned is keep the pre-production parts during the pre-production and the production in the production time.

Words about the animation connecting to the game, surprising works well and I'm happy with that.

Update, Friday the 5th of November:

I apparently won the first place first year award, and to be honest I'm not happy with that. I know it sounds weird but I'm actually not as I believe others deserve it more. My animating was poor and the only thing that I believe was good was the story and environment design.

I do believe the other reason was, I asked the judge why he liked it and he said cause my concept and execution worked. There was a lot of metaphors in the story and design. Like yay, my concept work and everything but eh, I really didn't feel worthy, which makes me feel ungrateful. He also said the judges wasn't judging by the quality of the animation as we are beginning this journey and will learn more in animation later down the line.

He also liked the game, and can see where I got all the inspirations from.

I also did say what should I improve, he did say the principles of animation which I agree. It was quite rushed.

I don't know, I should be grateful, like I don't have to get a loan for next year, but eh.
