Rigging Bitmap Character

Hey Guys!
Thursday the 30th of September 2021

Because I'm 'special', I'm rigging my character as a bitmap instead of vector.

Watching Tutorial of:

    https://www.toonboom.com/little-taco-truck-check-out-these-toon-boom-harmony-bitmap-tutorials

Didn't bring headphones cause thought didn't need them, I was wrong.

Seems like need to extract more images/files from Rey for it to work.

How to Import Bitmap layers into Harmony as Drawing Layers:

Backgrounds:

  • Looking to tv
  • Climbing through window
  • Looking to kitchen
  • run across lounge

  • Low angle going into hallway
  • looking from back bookcase
  • looking to fox, 3/4 back of bookcase
  • 3/4 looking from back bookcase
  • front of fox
  • Memory - 'lounge background from chair'
  • about to hit Photo-frame
  • high angle, looking to lounge from bookcase
  • high angle, looking to parent's from bookcase

  • Doorway
  • climbing up the side table
  • Mother Background
  • Rey talking background - looking to bed
  • Monster closing in.

To Draw for Rigged:

  • Rey
    • Back hood down in fear.
    • Curled up in ball.
    • 3/4 back (drawn once, use for both flip)
    • Separate shoes into 3 layers.
  • Monster, front (knees up), side (full), 3/4 back and 3/4 (left) face.
  • Father, separate into layers for subtle movements.
  • Mother, side and slight 3/4 left.

Animate in Procreate to import into Harmony:

Note: may add hair movement to front when monster talks to show power in his voice.

In Class:

Will need to add curve deformer on string
