Task to Complete by Wednesday the 11th of August
HEY GUYS!Today Wednesday the 4th of August - Due Wednesday the 11th of August
Project Management Task:
- Experiment with the Excel Sheet/Gantt Chart
Story Development Task:
- Write up Logline
Environment Design Task:
- Complete below Questions:
Before I complete these questions, I have done some research in the real world and took some photos at a friend's place. #PartMoodboard
https://kynnanimation1.blogspot.com/2021/08/research-into-location.html
- Period of time this is now. Roughly more precise in the 2010s.
Mood board of 2000s house is in the blog post above.
- Not an alternative history presay but is like Limbo, Purgatory or an Afterlife. Lets go into the difference in these;
Limbo:
Definition from website, https://www.britannica.com/topic/limbo-Roman-Catholic-theology
Not really what I'm looking/meaning at with this story. I planned to have this world/dimension as a world after death, where the children with regrets to find peace in, not to be judged and tested by a bigger being.
Purgatory:
Definition from website, https://www.britannica.com/topic/purgatory-Roman-Catholicism
I'm so confused with this definition, lets look at another website
Simplified definition from website, https://www.dummies.com/religion/christianity/catholicism/catholicism-and-purgatory/
This is kinda what I mean, but still 'cleansing from the attachment to sin', not really, unless you say regret is a sin.
Afterlife:
From the website, https://pallipedia.org/death-and-the-afterlife/
Just Nope. Not at all what I mean/want. UGH! This is a bit hard to figure out the real definition of what I like for this story.
Final Words of Distorted World:
To be clear, this isn't a ghost trying to find clarity in his regret. Well it is, but not. Like his spirit isn't in the real world, it is in a world where he made up with his living memories that are distorted. You would say this is all in his mind, but he is dead, so how can that be.So it is like his Purgatory, a world where he feels like he failed and needs to save his family that is living. Wither that is actually saving his living family or that this world is just for him to get over it.
In my world, the child, Rey is the main focal point, so everything is huge to him. So will be dividing this two sections as Major Items and Side Items.
- Big/Major World Items, such as buildings and structures
- Small/Side World Items
The design of the house (with the house items) would be very familiar to those who are currently living now. What I mean is that, people would go though the levels and would say/feel, 'Oh I have those", or "This feels like my old home". Depending on the player that is, for the younger players, would be present tense, for the older players, past tense.
- Lore of the World?
- Family Photos - broken glass
- Funeral Flier
- Toys
- Governing Law/Lores
Monster/Dad controls all, cant get away (as Rey dies at the hands of his Father).
- Where does the Player sit?
The Player is Rey, the small child trying to save his family, but his Father (the Monster) isn't going to let him.
Final:
No!!!!!!!! Ew no! Restart!!
Final draft of lounge environment. I went back to the basics as one reason, I didn’t know how or what to draw exactly. But seems it worked well, the emotion of abandonment of the family home is very much what the father has done to the family.
Maybe add some mono/grey look colour through it later.
In 2D animation, I thought of a thing that makes a main character distracted/reminisce of the time before. So I created the time when the main character gets a toy from his father, the toy is a blue fox teddy. So I thought maybe as a check point, so if the player dies, they can go back to there.
I put this here cause the program I’m learning had an ability to record while drawing, so just prove of drawing?
I really like to go for a soft toy vibes of safety, that why the button eyes instead of fake fox eyes.
I was planning to do some family portraits but realized the amount of time so I changes it to a children drawing.
Character Design Task:
- Design Develop Characters and Bios
- Character Abilities
For the Dad/Monster Bio:
Research into An Unreliable narrator - Examples "Caroline" and "Courage the Cowardly dog"
