Movement in animatics and Camera movement.

Hey Guys! Friday the 30th of April Learning how to animate the item/people in the animatic do to basic movements and camera movement. I have already started doing the camera movement into the animatic. During class today I did the shadow squash and run up the wall. Not much today as we continue with the critiquing class animatics. Homework in the weekend is to do in-between shots that I missed, look at last post for the scenes needed, and move items/people. That is it.

Update on Room Design

Image
Hey Guys! Wednesday the 28th of April I continued with room drawing/design. Edited the bookshelf as Abby (classmate) pointed out that my bookshelf seemed to have triangle shelves.  I've added some of my artworks to give a more personal feel and also a Non-binary flag on the roof. I have a tapestry above my study station at home but was unsure what to have on this one as the one at home was a bit hard to replicate, so I choose the non-binary flag as I see myself as non-binary and I like to be proud about it. Added my mug I drink a lot of coffee from, mouse and mouse pad. Chris recommended to change the mat as it is a bit of an eye sore and add shading to the flag and roof. Things to do: Fill shelves and cat bed slots. (DO THIS FIRST AS I'VE BEEN PROCASTING A BIT, CAUSE UNSURE HOW AND WHAT TO PUT THERE)  Change mat, use the colour of cat cushion to tie the colours in. Shade the flag and the roof Think about what to put on the mannequin Plan to finish this by Monday the 3rd...

Feedback from class

Hey Guys! Wednesday the 28th of April Export out of animatics in class, unsure why though, maybe to track our progress and feedback? (Ask Traci) Yes, yes that is the reason.  Feedback: Shutting wardrobe door after shadow shut door. What's happening with the paw? shadow jump back. Make it clearly the shadow trying get to the desktop. Show desktop then cat going between the shadow. Person arm reaching out, to pat cat, away. Full shoot of cat to close up cleaning Blinking of shadow, stop and in wardrobe. Shadow swing opposite way when fling into wardrobe. LAWS OF PHYSICS! In-between drawing cat jumping up and down from desk. Shadow not there then erupts from floor. Camera Moving: Zoom in the study room. Pan view of the cat looking around room. Neutral angle to low angle of the shadow erupting slight pan views to long shot of cat (pan right) and shadow (pan left) shots. Camera moves up after cat jumps. Zoom fit  of cat move from attack to cleaning themselves. To add in: Titl...

Storyboard Pro

Image
Hey Guys! Today is Friday the 23rd of April Today we are starting to learning how to use Storyboard Pro, a program I already used last year in Certificate of Creativity. I am nervous yet excited to finally start this. I really cant wait for my story to breath life. Note: in my script I did have an after credit scene but unsure it'll actually be in the animatic as the story is a bit long as it is. Importing Script: Import into Library: I edit the time length of each panels/shots to give a rough idea how long it is, so if I add or subtract the end scene. Its about 1min 29sec, I don't think there is going to be a end credit scene... NOTE: Get photoshop concept drawing of study room into library of this program for refences, will have to redraw them with Storyboard Pro.

Anticipate and pendulum - with beginning to plan out Assessment 2

Image
Hey Guys! Thursday the 22nd of April Learning how to anticipate during creating the an animation (sorry English is bad today, got headache). This is by giving what the object is doing 'life', the physics of the world, for one force to go forward opposite force would take place. Also add more squash and pull of the object. Pendulum, learning the arc motion in animation. We also supposed to the a drag with the pendulum but I was having a hard time trying to visualize the drag of a string.  Timetable for the sessions: Assessment 2: I'm going to take some reference photos of my face turn, and think about a short sentence that I'll be saying.  Head turn/Lip-sync:       Thinking either "Pika, whatcha you doing?" or "No no no no", something to interact with Pika (the         cat that is a companion).             Emotion: Annoyance to giddy, or, curious to panic. Idle: Drawing then relaxing/pat ...

Update: Working on the background and feedback from tutor (Chris)

Image
Hey Guys! Wednesday the 21st of April Feedback from the tutor: The thumbnail of the video is good, just think about how to make the red dot more 'logical', ie, yes the cat is playing with it and it is the recording dot, but make it make more sense by connected the two.       My idea to connect it would probably be, when Kynn is preparing herself she realizes the dot isn't         there and then Pika 'tackles' her. With the background: the right window wasn't in perspective. The red dashing line is the 'correction" With that being incorrect, I fixed it and corrected most of the other parts of the room too. Including the walls and floor, bookshelf, table and the cubbyhole. Before: After: I still like to add more things, things of some fandoms that I'm in. Chris, also said to fill up the bookshelf with items, which I like to do but a bit scared/uncertain how to do it as I like to keep it no line art for the background. So far, quite happy ...

Storyboarding - Homework and back to work

Hey Guys! Homework done in the 2 week break: I scan in my pencil drawings but it came out too light so I'll try and sketch it quickly onto Photoshop. Quickly done Photoshop:

Appealing of Principles

Image
Hey Guys! Tuesday the 20th of April! Fast and slow animation exercise: Heavy verse light: Spacing out animations: Ease in and out (laser pointer), and Acceleration (ball): I wanted to try and expand from just basic and do more what Marley (now second year student) did. We saw some of his work last year and I have no clue how he does this.

Hey Guys! Back to study today after two week break. Today is Monday the 19th of April 2021 What we are working today... Thumbnailing the story/ animation Background edited Trying to keep the background of the room simple and yet effective, going back to Yamz animatics background. Probably have the props and equipment that I'll (and Pika use) use an outline, would need to converse with the Tutor about this.

Assessment complete.... (My back aches!!!)

Image
Hey Guys! Last day to hand in Thursday the 8th of April 2021 Been here since 7:30am and now finished at 3:15pm, my back aches. Not going to do this again (a lot of work in short amount of time, no it wasn't a last minute thing, just a lot of work to do.). So today finished poses and inspirations. All I can say is a tried my best. I have no clue what I did but the poses look a bit dull compared to expressions so I don't know what I did wrong. But here is final submission: (I'll write up references and final say tomorrow, its been a long day) Finally, 8 point turn around!
