Proposal - Assessment - Storyboard
Hey Guys!Assessment Nearly Complete
Today, Saturday the 27th of March
I've nearly completed the poster assessment as I have an idea and goal towards, what I need to do is.
- Look up Cat designs, ie patterns of what a domestic cat could have. As the cat design on the poster is still a bit too close to Pikachu (The icon for Pokémon World).
- Rearrange the title of poster so the wording isn't heavy on one side.
- CHECK SPELLING! Or maybe play on words? (Instead of Protect, have Paw-tect)
- Maybe with the negative space include a texture so it isn't too heavy.
- Add Kynn in the chair.
- Add Genre to log line, or on to the poster.
- Rewrite Log Line.
INT. STUDY ROOM - AFTERNOON
KYNN, a 22-year-old animator, is busy drawing on her large tablet screen, head down in concentration, with headphones hanging around her neck. PIKA, a slim yellow, black and white patched cat is nestled in an upturned crate on top of the desk. Kynn slams her fist, pen in hand, on the desk in frustration jolting a surprised Pika. Kynn apologizes to Pika with a gentle pat on her head, then puts her headphones on and returns to work. Pika, realising nothing was wrong and unfazed about being woken, prepares to go back to sleep however begins to feel there is something lurking behind Kynn. Pika, uncertain, jumps off the desk to survey the room and makes her way over to sit on the mat behind Kynn.
After a brief pause Pika, reassured that nothing is wrong, turns around to jump back on to the desk. Suddenly, a human-shaped SHADOW creature appears behind Pika menacingly, causing Pika’s hackles to rise. Pika alerted to the threat, swipes back around with claws out. The Shadow jumps back leading to a standoff where the two stare at each other. Pika realises that the Shadow is eyeing up the desktop tower and prowls towards the Shadow making sure to place herself between the two.
The Shadow leaps on to the wall forcing Pika to leap to intercept *we hear the tearing of fabric*, however the Shadow begins to race up trying to outflank the young cat. Pika, frustration evident on her face, always a second too slow, watches as her opponent leaps to the floor behind her friend getting ever closer to it’s goal. Unaware of what is transpiring behind her, Kynn continues to listen to the music while drawing, while Pika pounces from above refusing to let her quarry escape. However the Shadow manages to jump back narrowly avoiding it’s fiery pursuer. Thus they begin the chase and proceed to bounce from corner to corner, toppling a mannequin and other things over, with Pika always a moment behind.
The intruder races towards an orange bean-bag on the floor with Pika in hot pursuit. About to sink her claws into the Shadow, Pika watches as the Shadow dodges into midair before Pika can get it and slams into the bean-bag. Realising this was it’s chance, the Shadow dashes towards the desktop with its hand stretched out but comes to an abrupt halt mere inches away from it’s goal. The Shadow, confused, looks behind itself to see Pika snarling, with beans from the beanbag all over the floor, and the Shadow's lower body protruding from her mouth. Time seems to hang still before Pika proceeds to swing the Shadow up in a circle and fling the interrupter into the open closet. The Shadow blinks in surprise, then in frustration to which Pika responds with a warning growl. The door of the closet slowly closes on the frustrated Shadow before slamming shut sealing it away until next time. Pika, satisfied with her work and reassured that the threat is gone, relaxes and begins to thoroughly clean her paw. Pika then turns around and jumps back up onto the desk, proceeds to headbutt Kynn’s elbow to which she responds with butt scratches. Pika then returns to the crate on the desk and continues with her interrupted afternoon nap.
-Credits roll-
Kynn stretches and exhaustedly says “That’s enough for today.” Taking off her headphones and placing her pen beside the tablet. Proceeds to turn her chair around and stand up, using her arms to propel herself forward. Opens her eyes and looks around the room in shock.
-Screen goes black-
Kynn shouts “What the Hell?!” To which Pika responds with secluded “Meow...”.
