Learning design rules and more poster experiments

 Hey Guys!
Wednesday the 24th of March

A3pi

Came into class late, so I'm trying to catch up

Poster/book cover/DVD cover, how to introduce the character.

  • Pose
  • How much is shown
  • Body shot
  • Style of Art
  • Emotion

I like the concept with this design, but have a better idea take the view point from the side of the cat.

The cat on right third with shadow mist from the right. In the shilloutte of an attack position or sitting cat.

I like the third idea, but I do think the showing of the cat twice would be confusing or over use. The negative space of the cat and dark background I like as it seem that its safe inside the cat and darkness outside the cat.

Doing some research into Silhouette Poster Designs

It seems that when it comes to negative space, if the silhouette is a portrait/of a person, it shows within a 'landscape'. Something that impact the character.

I like this but it isn't what I like for the poster. Going back to the previous idea of the shadow being the shilloutte, which is still something I don't like to do as I kinda want to hide the 'enemy'. But lets take a step back.

Because of the shadow is Kynn, I'll look into shilloutte of Kynn and cross it with shadow references.

I couldn't have the original creation of this design but its on a store.

To help us to make this poster Traci recommends us to go back to the basics.
