Drawing from Model

 Hey Guys!
Friday the 12th of March

Today was away from the computers and on an easel with our medium of charcoal. Forgive me by the not professional photography of drawings, as it was quick hard to take photos of.

First we did experiments with charcoal, ie drawing straight lines using strength to make it dark to light, then drawing a 'prefect' circle with one stroke, extra.

Into the actual drawing from sight, first was Mr Bones (the skeleton). It was hard to draw as the background was distracting for me to actually focus on the skeleton. This was about estimating 20 minute draw.

The following drawing was modeled by of one of the tutors, Ruby. Its been awhile since I've drawn realistic drawings and on top of that we had to 'time trail' it.

The first one was 10 minutes from one angle (I changed where I was for the fact I couldn't focus on her as the background and her blended in for me). The aim of this is to draw quickly and efficiently, to learn what to draw first to make the drawing apparent of what it is.

Next one is about 5 minutes, then the rest of drawing, the time got shorter and shorter, with different poses.

Last drawing we did of the model we went back to 10 minutes and see how much we can draw compared to our first 10 minute drawing. Did we improve? Personally, I didn't like this 'trail', it was stressful and I couldn't think clearly. Shown below is side by side, first 10 minute and after 10 minute.

Afterwards, we got told to draw our character with model posing. I just thought of Rue's character (Based off YouTuber). I preferred the back paper with white chalk, either that I had an actual idea/vision, or felt that I didn't have to go realistic, or that it was more enjoyable.
